As of Saturday evening Rwanda had recorded a total of 2889 #Covid-19 cases since the first confirmation in March.
According to the Health Ministry, it confirmed 109 new infections on Saturday alone. This indicates a significant rise in daily infections.
Details indicate that of the new infections on Saturday, 81 cases were confirmed in Kigali city (samples taken from traders in city markets), 24 cases from Rusizi district currently under lockdown, 3 cases from Huye district and 1 case from Nyamasheke district.
According to official statistics 361,842 tests have so far been conducted since March. But for only Saturday, 4759 tests were carried out across the country.
Despite the magnitude of the pandemic, Rwanda health physicians have managed to cure 1754 cases including 42 cured on Saturday. 11 have succumbed to the virus while 1124 cases are still active with the virus.
