The Rwandan government is set to receive more refugees as 130 other asylum seekers from Libya are expected to arrive in Kigali on Tuesday.

The refugees and asylum seekers will arrive at Kigali International Airport  at around 3pm, where they will be tested for Coronavirus before heading to their hostel awaiting results.

It is expected that once they get the answers they will immediately head in the Gashora Transit center located in Bugesera District, Eastern Province of Rwanda.

The reception of refugees is in line with the agreement that Rwanda has signed with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the African Union.

Rwanda recently received a fourth batch of refugees

Rwanda has already accommodated 385 refugees and other asylum seekers.

Of those, 131 have already fled to other countries, including Sweden, 23 to Canada, 46 to Norway, and five to France.

On September 10, 2019, the Government of Rwanda, the African Union (AU) and the UNHCR, signed a partnership agreement that will allow the country to receive refugees from Libya, where they have been searching for a route through the Mediterranean sea to Europe.
