Nigerian striker Elijah Ani has arrived in Belgium for a three-week professional trial with Jupiler Pro League side Royal Charleroi SC. Ani, who recently transferred to Police FC from Bugesera FC, left Kigali on Friday, June 21, to honor Charleroi's invitation.

Ani's impressive performance in the 2023/24 Primus National League season, where he scored 15 goals, helped propel Bugesera FC to the Peace Cup final. His exceptional form earned him a nomination for the Rwanda Premier League Player of the Year award, competing against APR FC midfielder Jean Bosco Ruboneka and Rayon Sports captain Kevin Muhire. Charleroi scouted Ani during the season and are reportedly ready to buy out his contract if he succeeds in the trials.

Nsanzimfura to Decide Future in July

Former APR midfielder Keddy Nsanzimfura will determine his future after his contract with Egyptian second-tier side Qanah FC expires on June 30. The Rwanda international joined Qanah in September 2023 but has struggled for playing time due to the limited number of foreign players allowed in the league. A potential return to the Rwandan top-flight league is on the table, pending the outcome of his discussions with Qanah FC.

Nsanzimfura, 20, recently played for Gatoto FC, which won the 2024 Agaciro pre-season tournament by defeating Brazil 3-2 at Mumena Stadium on Saturday, June 22. The Brazil team comprises primarily players born in Rubavu.

Gor Mahia Duo Linked with APR FC

Gor Mahia players Alpha Onyango, 23, and Austin Odhiambo, 24, have been linked with a move to Rwandan champions APR FC as the club seeks to strengthen its squad for the 2024/25 season. Despite reports from Kenya suggesting an invitation from APR FC, the club has dismissed any current moves for the two players.

APR FC's New Coaching Staff

APR FC has unveiled its new coaching staff, led by Serbian head coach Darko Novic, who was officially announced on Friday, June 21. Novic will be assisted by Dragan Sarac and Rwandan Thierry Hitimana as first and second assistant coaches, respectively. Marmouche Mehdi has been appointed as the fitness coach, succeeding the late Adel Zrane, who passed away in April.

Gorilla FC Signs Goalkeeper Serge Ntangisanayo

In other transfer news, Gorilla FC has signed goalkeeper Serge Ntangisanayo from Gasogi United on a two-year deal, further strengthening their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
